This project, narrated by the indigenous people themselves, was based on the research of the Asociación Zonal Indígena de Cabildos y Autoridades Tradicionales de la Chorrera— AZICATCH— on the slavery and extermination that their ancestors experienced.
The project received a digital-podcast sound production grant from the Colombian Ministry of Culture in 2021.
Manguaré Podcast represents the union of two worlds, that of the Amazonian indigenous peoples and that of digital sound. This six-part sound series tells the indigenous side of a story that has inspired novels and films: the rubber holocaust at the beginning of the 20th century.
